Eastwood Extension & Renovation

Our Eastwood renovation and extension project combined heritage character with contemporary living, carefully transforming a historic residence into a functional modern family home. Originally constructed in 1882 by John Wark, this heritage-listed property required a considered approach that respected the integrity of the original structure while introducing new spaces designed for modern living.

Designed by Alexander Wilkinson Architects, the project involved substantial structural modifications within the existing home. Nuovo Homes worked closely with the design intent while helping refine elements of the build to align with the client’s budget and construction practicality.

A major component of the renovation centred around reworking the internal layout, including the creation of a new stairwell and the relocation of the existing staircase to improve flow and functionality throughout the residence. The extension itself required extensive onsite planning and coordination, with sections of the original supporting structure carefully removed while temporary works were implemented to support the upper level during construction.

Internally, the home now balances old and new through expansive living spaces, improved natural light and carefully integrated contemporary finishes that complement the heritage character of the original building. Every detail was considered to ensure the new additions felt cohesive with the existing residence rather than separate from it.

This project reflects Nuovo Homes’ commitment to craftsmanship, problem-solving and thoughtful construction, delivering a complex renovation that preserves the history of the home while adapting it for modern family living.
