Our Malvern renovation and extension project was designed to transform a character residence into a refined contemporary home while preserving the strength and elegance of the original architecture. With the initial concept coming from Rebecca Ryan Architecture, the project embraces a bold modern design language, with steel becoming a defining architectural feature throughout the home.

From the outset, the design focused on creating expansive open spaces, natural light and strong visual connection between the old and new sections of the residence. Large spanning steel beams and custom steel-framed windows were carefully integrated into the build, allowing for generous open-plan living areas while maintaining a clean and minimal architectural aesthetic.

Internally, the home balances warmth and sophistication through carefully selected finishes, custom detailing and thoughtfully considered spatial planning. The renovation redefined the way the home functions for modern family living, creating seamless transitions between the kitchen, dining, living and outdoor entertaining spaces.

A strong emphasis was placed on craftsmanship and construction detail throughout the project, particularly in the execution of the exposed structural steel elements and the integration of contemporary materials within the existing home. The result is a residence that feels architecturally striking while remaining highly practical and comfortable to live in.
